Marigio' doll creations started in 1980. Maria Rossi, the artist lived in a house in the countryside of Northern Italy. Her line is perfect to the smallest details because she personally supervises every single moment of the assembly of here creations.
Every dress is the result of extremely accurate research, and inspired by original photgraphs, post cards from the 1800 and 1900's and by old movies. All fabrics are strictly natural fibers of high value and quality such as silk, linen, cotton and wool.
As every single doll made by Marigio' is unique, they come in a limited number from 50 to 100, up to a maximum of 500 wolrdwide and they are numbered and carry a certificate of authenticity.
Maria casts the head and torso in one complete piece on some of the dolls - and some are made with a moveable head. The arms and legs are cast separately - and inserted into the shoulder openings and openings on either side of the lower torso. Because they are made completely of porcelain - they are quite heavy. They are constructed to give maximum stability for displaying.
The dolls all have real hair - and look absoluted incredible displayed.
If you are used to the BJD structure - these are quite different. They are truly amazing pieces.
Prices of the dolls featured here will be between $1,900 and $2,200. Free shipping within Continential U.S.
